For the first time since March 2020, China is open for travel for both business and leisure with flights restarting from major hubs like San Francisco and Seattle. Currently, China still requires strict COVID-19 testing to enter the country. The PRC Embassy has identified timing and testing requirements for pre-departure which include the following:

1. Pre-boarding Nucleic Acid (PCR) Test

A negative COVID-19 PCR test is required for entry into China. Worksite Labs offers three different PCR/Nucleic Acid test offerings:

🟠 Standard PCR – Results within 24 hours

🟠 Express PCR – Results within 12 hours

🟠 Rapid PCR – Results within 1.5 hours

You can expect to receive your result within the time frame you select when booking your appointment online. You will then receive a text and email letting you know your results are ready after collecting your test specimen.

2. Health Declaration to China Customs

It is mandatory to declare your negative test result to China Customs by filling out a Health Declaration Form at least one working day ahead of your departure. Normally, the Embassy will return the approved form to you within 24 hours. You can find this form at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn or through the China Customs App.

Health screenings are also set up at airports where incoming passengers will have their temperature taken.

3. Negative Test Boarding Confirmation

When it comes time to board, your negative COVID-19 test results will be checked over. Results are required to be within 48 hours of boarding the airplane to travel to China. If you cannot provide proof up to the standard set by the PRC Embassy, you will not be allowed to board the plane.

Proof Standards:

βœ”οΈ Your name on your test results must be the same as it appears on your travel document. You will need to make sure of this when filling out your test results in our patient portal.
βœ”οΈ The time of the test or the time of the test issued must be listed. You can print this out from our patient portal or your confirmation email.
βœ”οΈ The name of the testing institution must be listed. We have our name listed at the top of all documents.
βœ”οΈ Results must be in English since you will be departing from the USA. All of our test results are provided in English.
βœ”οΈ You must have a hard copy of your results. You can print out your results from your patient portal.

Ready, Set, Go

At the end of December 2022, the CDC announced negative testing requirements from Air Passengers entering the USA from China but has since lifted that rule. Testing is no longer required for passengers entering the United States from China, easing up a portion of travel responsibilities for those coming or going from the United States. However, with the restrictions still in place in China we want to make sure travelers are aware of the latest requirements and equipped with the proper documents needed after testing to make the trip successful.

Worksite Labs is here to serve all people for their COVID-19 testing Requirements for China Travel with the fastest laboratory test turnaround times and easy online booking.
